“The level of terrorism preparedness in Hungary will not be increased following the terrorist attack in Manchester, but the security of certain events will be handled as a priority”, the Minister of Interior told reporters following his annual report to Parliament’s National Security Committee.
According to the Ministry of Interior’s Parliamentary State Secretary, the series of attacks from Brussels has gained further strength during the past week, and accordingly it is now more important than ever before for us to stand up for Hungary’s interests.
“Although pressure is increasing continuously, Hungary does not wish to change its immigration policy”, Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér said at a meeting of the European Commission’s Justice and Home Affairs Council in Brussels on Thursday; the Ministry informed Hungarian news agency MTI about the Minister’s speech in a statement on Friday morning.

In contrast, as is also clear if one reads the index.hu article carefully, the truth is that the border fences are not being electrified.
“The Government is temporarily suspending the implementation of the EU regulation on systematic border checks”, the Ministry of Interior’s Parliamentary State Secretary told Hungarian news agency MTI on Tuesday.
