Judgment on annulment of Sargentini Report could be adopted at the end of this year or beginning of next year

On Monday, the Court of Justice of the European Union heard Hungary’s petition for annulment submitted against the Sargentini Report which was adopted with an unlawful vote count procedure. A judgment could be reached in the case that could serve as a precedent at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year, Justice Minister Judit Varga said on Tuesday on Kossuth Radio’s programme ‘Good morning, Hungary’.
Government to set up more victim support centres

Government to propose tightening of rules relating to conditional release

In the spirit of zero tolerance against violence, on Tuesday the Ministry of Justice submitted a bill on the tightening of the rules relating to conditional release to Parliament. The purpose of the bill is to exclude the possibility of conditional release without exception in the case of persons sentenced to imprisonment for a fixed term due to crimes resulting in the wilful extinguishing of human life, Justice Minister Judit Varga told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday.
