During the coronavirus pandemic, Hungary’s containment effort has been one of the most successful in Europe because so far in Hungary we have managed to avoid a phase of mass incidences and fatalities in the thousands, the Justice Minister stated when she met with the Ambassadors of the Member States of the European Union on Friday in Budapest.
Hungary will not restrict judicial immunity, the Justice Minister told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.
On Thursday, the Court of Justice of the European Union passed a judgment in the Hungary vs. European Commission case, granting Hungary’s appeal against the decision of the Commission and repealing the decision which suspended the relevant taxation measure, Justice Minister Judit Varga told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.
The Digital Freedom Committee contacted Facebook’s regional director in a message in order to clarify whether in the procedure of the social media company’s oversight board the requirements of transparency and political neutrality are being fully observed, the Justice Minister announced on her Facebook account on Tuesday.
Hungary has successfully completed the first phase of the fight against the coronavirus, following which Hungary will be among the first EU Member States to terminate the special legal order, Justice Minister Judit Varga stated in an article published on the Brussels news portal EUObserver on Thursday.
In his opinion released on Thursday, Advocate General Sánchez-Bordona recommends that the Hungarian and Polish action brought against the amendment of the EU Directive relating to the rights of posted workers should be dismissed. However, the Hungarian government hopes that despite this the court will annul the challenged directive, Justice Minister Judit Varga told the Hungarian news agency MTI.
“It has been swiftly ascertained that the domestic and international slander campaign pursued against Hungary in connection with the state of the rule of law and the state of danger was entirely without foundation,” Justice Minister Judit Varga said on Kossuth Radio’s programme ‘Good morning, Hungary’ on Wednesday morning.
It has been ascertained again that in recent months the domestic and Brussels Left have accused the Hungarian government without foundation, purely on political grounds as today the government will submit the bill which calls on Parliament to terminate the state of danger. With the passage of the law, the state of danger will be lifted in Hungary much earlier than in a number of European countries, as expected on 20 June, Justice Minister Judit Varga said on Tuesday, after the video conference of the General Affairs Council of the Council of the European Union.
The main topic of the Monday cabinet meeting is the bill aimed at the revocation of the special legal order which we will present to Parliament on Tuesday, the Justice Minister said on her social media account on Monday afternoon.
The Hungarian government believes in genuine work, and also during the state of danger they are taking action continuously to protect families, children and women, Justice Minister Judit Varga told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.
