At a session of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council on 14 October, the agriculture ministers of twenty EU member states, including Hungary, supported a joint statement calling for the preservation of the current level of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) funding during the European Union’s upcoming multiannual financial framework.
Hungary’s membership of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank offers Hungarian businesses major opportunities for entering Asian markets, Finance Minister Mihály Varga stated after he received in his office Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
“Over the past decade, Hungary has doubled its trade with the countries of the Turkic Council, which now stands at some 4 billion dollars”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to public media on Monday in Baku, where he took part in a meeting of foreign ministers of the countries of the Turkic Council and a business forum, as we as holding several bilateral negotiations.
“It is of key importance from Hungary’s perspective, and the best possible news, that the Law and Justice Party (PiS) has won the elections in Poland, and that it seems the party will be able to continue to govern the country”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI in evaluation of the results of Sunday’s Polish elections.
Taxes must be reduced, and everyone must be made to pay taxes, András Tállai, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance said. He also said in an interview published in the Saturday issue of the newspaper Magyar Nemzet that today Hungary is the European Union’s number one tax reducer.
Thanks to the Hungarian economy’s growth rate above the EU average, the government’s predictable economic policy and the reduction of taxes, Hungary and within it Budapest in particular will continue to remain attractive investment destinations also in the years ahead, Péter Benő Banai told the Hungarian news agency MTI.
“The relationship between Hungary and Serbia is about cooperation and continuous construction”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared at the opening of the Kübekháza-Novi Kneževac border crossing point on Friday. “Hungarian-Serbian relations set off from a state of hostility, but have now achieved the best bilateral relations in history”, Mr. Szijjártó stated.
“The Croatian Economic Development Programme has been more successful than expected, which is proof of the fact that there are many Hungarians in Croatia, Slavonia and Baranya County who would like to build their future and the future of the Hungarian minority via Hungarian investments”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Parliamentary State Secretary Levente Magyar said at a press conference.
In Europe there are different countries and regions; the Eastern half of the European Union is different from the Western, but we need unity and cooperation nonetheless.
“Chinese-owned transport safety equipment manufacturer Joyson Safety Systems Hungary Ltd. will be expanding its plant in Miskolc; the value of the investment is 16 billion forints (EUR 50 million)”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced at a press conference in Budapest on Friday.
