Following talks with Laotian prime minister Thongloun Sisoulith in Budapest on Monday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that “Hungarian-Laotian political relations have been elevated to the level of strategic partnership.”
“Hungary and the Netherlands view the world from different perspectives, but despite the differing methods of approach, if we remain on foundations of mutual respect, we can discuss many things”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Monday in Budapest following a meeting with his Dutch counterpart.
Europe needs a strong European People’s Party (EPP), while the EPP needs a strong Fidesz, Justice Minister László Trócsányi, who is the leader of Fidesz’s list of candidates for the European parliamentary (EP) elections, pointed out in an interview given to the conservative German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) which was published on the newspaper’s news portal on Sunday.
“On Tuesday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will receive parliamentary group leader of the European People’s Party (EPP) and the party’s top candidate for the European Parliament (EP) elections Manfred Weber in Budapest”, Deputy State Secretary heading the Prime Minister’s Press Office Bertalan Havasi told Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday.
“In accordance with the agreement between the two countries’ prime ministers, Hungary-Laos cooperation is being raised to a strategic level”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Monday in Budapest following a meeting with his Laotian counterpart.
“The citizens of the European Union have a right to know that the European Commission is preparing a secret plan behind their backs to further undermine the continent’s security”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Kossuth Radio’s “Good Morning, Hungary!” show on Monday.
The Ministry of Agriculture wholeheartedly supports the petition launched by the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) and the Hungarian Association of Farmers’ Cooperatives (Magosz) for maintaining the level of agricultural subsidies provided by the European Union. A national roadshow will be initiated to promote that cause, Agriculture Minister István Nagy announced at a press conference in Budapest on Tuesday.
In March, the month of caves, Hungary’s national parks will be offering special programs as part of a campaign to promote caves that are open to the public, it was announced on Friday at a press event held in Budapest’s Szemlő-hegyi cave.
“Precision farming is required for the renewal of Hungary’s agriculture. Agricultural digitalisation promotes stability and predictability in food production and increases efficiency, thus improving competitiveness and higher income levels”, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said at the opening ceremony of the PREGA conference and exhibition.
“The 79th National Agricultural and Food Exhibition and Fair (OMÉK) will be held at the Hungexpo Budapest Fair Center between 26 and 29 September 2019. Organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agricultural Marketing Centre (AMC), the event will receive 1.2 billion forints (EUR 3.8 million) in financing from the central budget”, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy announced in Budapest on Thursday.
