At a conference in Warsaw on Tuesday entitled “Congress of Innovators from Central and Eastern Europe”, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that the European future lies in the Visegrád Four (V4). Favourable labour market trends have continued: in the period December 2016-February 2017, the number of people aged 15-74 years in employment rose by 130 thousand, to 4 million 372 thousand. The number of public work employees, on the other hand, was down by 14 thousand year-on-year, and that of people working abroad has also fallen, which fact signals a stronger primary labour market.
According to Minister of State Pál Völner form the Ministry of Justice, the European Convention human Rights needs reforming, but no drastic steps need to be taken because Hungary and several other member states have issues with the decision of the Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Speaking to reporters on 28 March in Budapest, Mr. Völner stressed: We have the right to protect our borders and screen organisations that are involved in the “migrant business”.
