For the government Hungary comes first, and it will therefore protect the Hungarian people even if the Venice Commission and the Soros network do not like this. The government stands up for the Stop Soros legislative package, and will not revoke or repeal it as the law serves to protect Hungary and permits firm action to be taken against the organisers of illegal migration.
“Hungary’s standpoint has not changed: with relation to migration we still cannot accept the mandatory distribution mechanism, and a nation state-level decision must be made on the issue, not a European Union-level decision”, Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office Gergely Gulyás declared on Tuesday in Brussels.
According to the Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office, the Seventh Amendment to the Fundamental Law and the Stop Soros legislative package adopted by Parliament on Wednesday serve to guarantee Hungary’s sovereignty and security.
Minister of State for EU Relations Judit Varga from the Prime Minister’s Office has again held bilateral talks in Brussels with relation to the so-called Sargentini report, in addition to which she also attended Wednesday’s meeting of the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (EP LIBE), at which Members of the European Parliament debated the amendment proposals submitted with relation to the draft report prepared by the Dutch Green Party MEP.

On Thursday in Budapest the Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office described the draft of the European Union’s budget for the period between 2021 and 2027 as unacceptable.
Minister of State for EU Relations Judit Varga from the Prime Minister’s Office held bilateral talks in Brussels and Strasbourg with several Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) regarding the so-called Sargentini report, as well as with EU Commissioner Tibor Navracsics and Polish Minister for EU Affairs Konrad Szymański.

At the same time, the European Commission would withdraw funds from EU policies which have their contractual purposes, Szabolcs Takács, Minister of State for EU Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday in Zagreb.
