Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has written to Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the European Commission, asking the Brussels body to make a 50 per cent contribution to Hungary’s border protection costs. In the letter Mr. Orbán states that Hungary is protecting not only itself against the flood of illegal migrants, but the whole of Europe. Replying to a question from Hungarian news portal Origo, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief Bertalan Havasi said the following: “There are no plans for French president Emmanuel Macron to visit Hungary during his current tour of Central and Eastern Europe, but a meeting between the V4 and France may be held before the end of this year; a precise date for this meeting is still under discussion.”
