In his pre-agenda speech during today’s session of Parliament, Head of the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister Antal Rogán asked MPs to support a debate on the ordering of the 2016 referendum outside the usual rules of parliamentary procedure so that Parliament can order the referendum on the compulsory resettlement quota as soon as possible.
“There is a huge difference in importance between the government’s referendum on the compulsory resettlement quota and the MSZP’s proposal for a referendum on shops being close in Sundays”, Minister of State for Government Communication Bence Tuzson declared on Hungarian TV2 television’s Wednesday morning programme, “Mocha”.
The Government takes the view that, instead of Brussels, the Hungarian people alone have the right to decide whom they want to live together with in their country, Antal Rogán said in response to the Curia’s Tuesday decision, based on which a referendum can be held at the Government’s initiative with respect to the mandatory resettlement quotas.
On Friday, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister Csaba Dömötör told MTI that the Prime Minister announced that the Government of Hungary has proposed a ten-point action plan for protecting the external borders of the European Union and strengthening the Schengen system.
Antal Rogán, Head of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister, has said that the draft budget for 2017 proposes radical reductions in value added tax on the most important foodstuffs, and the further increase of tax allowances for families with two children.
On Thursday evening, Minister of State for Government Communication Bence Tuzson told public television channel M1 that the Government’s long-term objective is always to reduce taxes on the “income side” of the balance sheet: to reduce the rate of personal income tax.
In connection with talks on the anti-terrorism action plan, Antal Rogán, Head of Cabinet of the Prime Minister, explained that he has asked opposition parties not to underestimate the extent of the terrorist threat.

What is important is that its provisions can guarantee the safety of Hungary’s citizens.
The Minister heading the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister takes the view that the decision of the European Union on the mandatory distribution of migrants jeopardises Hungary’s sovereignty.
