The Government of Hungary condemns, in the strongest terms, the ballistic missile launch conducted by North Korea today. The DPRK, with this missile test, has repeatedly and flagrantly violated the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and has continuously rejected cooperation with the international community. Hungary and its allies condemn the launch of the missile, which again breached the air space of Japan.

Several people lost their lives, tens of thousands have been forced to leave their homes and about three hundred thousand inhabitants have been left without electricity in the wake of category 4 Hurricane Harvey that made landfall in Texas early morning on Saturday, 26 August. Due to the ensuing floods, 62 counties are currently considered disaster-stricken areas. The city of Houston has been also gravely affected. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade offers its condolences to the families of the victims and wishes the injured a swift recovery.
