Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has held telephone talks with Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić on the migration crisis on the Serbian-Macedonian border, Press Chief of the Prime Minister’s Office Bertalan Havasi informed kormány.hu.

The Hungarian government is launching an information campaign combating illegal immigration. During the Government’s short but focused campaign (which will use the services of international advertising agency J. Walter Thompson), announcements in given local languages will be placed in leading newspapers in countries of origin and transit countries most associated with illegal migration. The information campaign will also feature billboards, flyers and a multilingual online platform.

Although the embargo imposed by Russia on 6 August 2014 had a negative impact on the Hungarian agricultural export sector, Hungarian-Russian economic relations do not stagnate; in fact, despite the embargo, a number of high-value joint investments have been realized - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade told national news agency MTI on Tuesday.
The China-CEE Tourism Cooperation project aims to become an active participant of the Chinese “One Belt-One Road” foreign trade strategy, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said following the second high-level symposium of the initiative, which includes China and 16 countries from the Central and Eastern European region. A Memorandum of Understanding on joining the project was signed following a strategic forum in Bled, Slovenia.

Hungary must very firmly reject all accusations which are levelled against it on account of claims that it is not doing enough for the management of the issue of migrants, the State Secretary for Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade pointed out in Budapest.
Similarly to the industrial sector, the Hungarian foreign trade sector also posted massive volume increases in June 2015: the volume of exports and imports was up by 14.1 percent and 10.7 percent, respectively, year-on-year. Thus, the country’s foreign trade surplus exceeded EUR 800 million and reached EUR 4.2bn in the first half of the year. This is EUR 981 million higher than the figure of one year ago. According to Minister of State for Economic Regulation Béla Glattfelder, the Hungarian economy may record the highest ever foreign trade surplus this year.
