“Parliament could amend several pieces of legislation at its extraordinary session next week, at which the General Assembly will review the steps taken so far to protect the country’s southern border and discuss further action”, Minister of Prime Minister’s Office János Lázár announced at a press conference entitled “Government Info 20 – What is the Government doing and why?”, held jointly with Minister of State for Government Communication András Giró-Szász.
The Government holds enterprises in high esteem and helps them to extra funding by publishing calls for tender of operative programmes until the summer of 2017, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said at the presentation ceremony of the Awards for Successful Enterprises in Budapest at which the Minister this time honoured tourism enterprises.
A UN High-level Meeting on South-South and triangular cooperation, which serves as a forum for sharing knowledge and experience with developing countries, was held in Macao, China on August 25-26. The meeting was organised jointly by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, the Chinese Government and the Municipality of Macao. One of the main aims of the Economic Development and Innovation Operative Programme (EDIOP) is to boost the research, development and innovation activities of domestic enterprises. The three calls for R&D&I tenders announced on 25 August, which grant funding of altogether HUF 71bn, focus on this goal, Minister of State for the Utilization of EU Funding Balázs Rákossy said.
Minister of State for Government Communication András Giró-Szász informed MTI that at a governmental conference held on Tuesday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that hard work and commitment is needed from the whole state apparatus in order to successfully carry out civic consolidation and to make it a part of everyday life.
The Government will put forward new legislation which can provide a “legal barrier” for Hungary’s border, following the physical barrier, Secretary of State Róbert Répássy has said.
