János Lázár takes the view that a national infrastructure development programme should be launched. He spoke about this at Portfolio’s business conference held on Thursday.
Minister of State for European Union Affairs and Chair of the International Holocaust Remembrance Association (IHRA) Szabolcs Takács received the U.S. State Department’s Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Robert Berschinski in his office on Wednesday.
Following roundtable discussions on migration with ambassadors to Budapest from the countries of the Visegrád Group (V4), Minister of State for EU Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office Szabolcs Takács said that, according to the V4, European-level cooperation is not enough: global efforts are needed to manage the problems posed by illegal migration.
Deputy State Secretary for Development Policy Nándor Csepreghy has announced that funding in the first three priorities of the Economic Development Operational Programme has been resumed, following the European Commission’s decision to lift the five-month-long suspension of disbursement. He added that in the next few weeks development funds of approximately HUF 210 billion will be allocated to Hungary. The EU is expected to make the payment at the beginning of October, thus the funds may arrive within weeks, he said.
János Lázár, the Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office paid a visit to Brussels on 29 September 2015. During the course of his visit, he had talks with Dominique Ristori, head of the Directorate-General for Energy within the European Commission.
“Holland also views the protection of the European Union’s external borders as an important task”, Minister of State for EU Affairs Szabolcs Takács said on Friday following a meeting with Director-General for European Cooperation of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs Robert de Groot in the Hague.

The State Secretariat for Nation Policy finds it regrettable that the Central Election Committee of Ukraine has decided to establish new electoral districts before the local government elections of October. The restructuring of the electoral districts of Bereg County – which affects Hungarians living in Transcarpathia the most – makes no sense, as the settlements of the four newly established electoral districts are not even neighbouring ones.
