The Ministry of Agriculture’s Deputy State Secretary for Agricultural Economy attended a professional conference in Visegrád, where he reported on current government measures concerning animal breeding.
The ministers of agriculture of the Visegrád Group (V4) countries and the relative ministers from Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria held talks in Warsaw on 2 June 2017. The topics of discussion at the last meeting of agriculture ministers prior to the Hungarian V4 presidency beginning on 1 July included issues of importance to the Central and Eastern European region such as the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) after 2020, curbing unfair commercial practices, joint participation in the EU’s research & development programmes, and land regulations.
“An outstanding 63 billion forints worth of environmental protection and conservation development projects are being realised in Hungary during the 2014-2020 period”, Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas said on Saturday in Tiszaderzse.
“The two most important tasks of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development are the eradication of poverty and famine, a prerequisite of which is to make economic and natural resources available to everyone”, Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas stressed on Monday in Budapest at an informal regional meeting of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
“The Government’s policies are confirmed by the fact that Hungarian food industry exports have increased by 37 percent over the past five years”, Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas said on Monday in Herceghalom.
The Hungarian Minister of Agriculture and the Romanian Ambassador discussed the importance of cooperation with relation to the European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), and improving communication within the field of environmental protection.
Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas was presented with individual certificates of accreditation for three Hungarian meat processing plants by his Philippine counterpart Emmanuel Piñol in Budapest on 23 May. The presentation of the documents represents the successful conclusion of an authorisation procedure lasting almost three years. The companies in question will soon begin to export their products to the Southeast Asian country.
The Middle Eastern country is showing interest in excellent quality Hungarian cereal, vegetable and fruit seeds, as well as fungicides and pesticides. Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas and Iranian Deputy Agriculture Minister Abbas Keshavarz met this week to discuss the expansion of trade relations and possible joint forms of research & development.
“The food industry, outstanding raw materials and traditional agricultural products and foods filled with delicious flavours are important pillars of both Croatian and Hungarian culture”, Deputy Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said at the opening of the Croatian Farm Breakfast held at the Croatian Market event in Budapest’s Great Market Hall.
Trade relations between Hungary and China are becoming increasingly close, and especially with regard to the distribution of agricultural and food industry products. Minister of State for Agricultural Economy György Czerván and Chinese Deputy Minister of Agriculture Qu Dongyu met in Hangzhou on 18 May to discuss the further development of agricultural and trade relation between the two countries.
