“There is order on the food market and producers, processors and distributors are striving to adhere to food safety regulations”, Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas said on Hungarian M1 television’s morning show and Kossuth Radio’s “180 Minutes” programme today, announcing the results of seasonal food safety checks by the National Food Chain Safety Office (NFCSO).

EU environment ministers discussed opportunities for taking action against the pollution caused by plastic waste in Valetta on 25 April 2017, at a summit organised by the Maltese presidency of the European Union. Hungarian beef and beef products may again by exported to Saudi Arabia

Thanks to the efforts of the Hungarian animal health authority, following a break of 16 years it has now again become possible for us to export Hungarian beef and beef products to Saudi Arabia. The Middle Eastern country opened its gates to Hungarian beef products at the end of March. The Ministry of Agriculture has already submitted the details of the three Hungarian companies audited by the Saudi food safety authority in 2016.
Environmental safety still in focus

The 17th session of the Hungarian-Slovakian Joint Committee on Environmental Protection and Conservation Cooperation was held in Budapest on 12 April in the spirit of reinforcing environmental protection and conservation relations, discussing taska relating to EU commitments, developing cross-border cooperation and increasing environmental safety, and was co-chaired by minister of states Zsolt V. Németh and Norbert Kurilla from the two countries’ relative ministries responsible for environmental protection.
